This is The Brooklyn historical Society Sketch looking at the building from the inside.
Brooklyn Historical Society Library plan view
The First Floor plan of the BHS building sketch.
this was an exercise of making the Vorhees Building entrance plan view. I first started with the grid and looked at the windows for the symmetry. i then looked at the geometry involved in the space.
This was a free hand drawing of the axon of the Vorhees entrance building. I followed with the grid to make it look like a 3 dimensional drawing.
This part of the entrance drawing reflects on how the roof of the entrance is not completely covered. it has the structures showed in the roof. The whole roof is made out of wood.
This Plan is from a Little shelter in Central Park. This structure is made everything out of wood. from the columns to the roof. it is a octagonal shelter, although i call it “Shelter”, When it rain it doesn’t protect you from the rain.
Masonry Trip Notes
This Building is in Wall street, i was looking at the building with stones and it had details in the top made of stone as well.
In this assignment, I decided to choose this plan because I thought that since it was symmetrical it would be easier to draw. It also caption my eye because it had geometry in it and the main focus in the middle of the plan view was a circle insde a square, which was easier to recognize it as the center, where the center lines would intersect.
Plan Sketch
For this assignment, I chose this shelter because it was made of wood and natural resource. Such as what the birds might use to make their habitats. I chose it because it seemed most different to the other shlters that were square or rectangular shape. I felt like the Think wood that were holding the shelter itself would create a sense of tension because it might of fall or break since it was such a thin wood supporting it.
