It was once said by Malcom X

Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today

Right now I am building my legacy for tomorrow. Legacy is not easy, but it is obtainable. I try my best for the last 5 years, and maybe professors are not happy with my results or my outcome, but the fact of the matter is that I was able to build my education for tomorrow and I am proud of it.

Welcome to my journey.

As a freshman and sophomore, I was intentionally going for an associate for business and fashion. The classes that I enjoyed the most during my freshman and sophomore years was Advertisement (MKT 1214) and Marketing Research (1210). I think I did really well in those classes because of the professors who taught it and made it easy to understand. The project that I found amusing was advertisement. I worked with an awesome group, which we called our self the Gold Rush Maven, and everyone pitched in ideas, which made the project run smoothly. I was in charge of the promotion advertisement along with the commercial. The commercial was something that I never thought I could do, but my professor enjoyed the small presentation, which made me proud of my work. The assignment that I did for marketing, was a project that shows which brand consumers would choose and why. The topic that my group and I did was ā€œApple vs Samsungā€. Doing a large amount of research about both companies, made me understand the potential that each brand has. We conducted surveys to 100 customers and at the end of the project we concluded that Apple was the winning choice for many consumers.

As a junior and senior, classes became more challenging, however, it did not stop me from getting my baccalaureate. Once I entered junior year, projects and presentation came from all different directions, from visual merchandising, 20th century dress & culture, fashion forecasting, product development, so on and so forth. My favorite project that I enjoyed the most was Trend Forecasting (BUF 3100). The project was based on a style of clothing but has 5 different trends. Along with that, you had to do history on all trends, do 10 sketches (front and back), and get swatches of the actual fabric. Out of all projects I have completed in my years in college, Trend Forecasting allowed my creativity to flourish. Visual Merchandising (BUF 2203) is another class that I appreciated because my creativity did not have a limit. Creating a portfolio was difficult because I wanted it to be perfect to resemble me in the best way possible. Even today, I am still fixing and organizing my portfolio.

This was the glimpse of what I been through in the last 5 years to get my baccalaureate. Each class marked me, in the sense of, understanding my field of career. Giving me a background of why every department is important in fashion business. I am thankful and bless to have opportunities to obtain an education base on my interest.

I hope you enjoy my projects and give you a little more of who I am.

Thank you, enjoy!
