Welcome to my e-Portfolio! My name is Alexandria Dorato and I am 22 years old. From an early age, I’ve been fascinated by the art and science of oral health. It was during a dental class at Tottenville High School that I first discovered my passion for dentistry. I was in the Dental Office Careers class from sophomore year to senior year, and I truly loved it. I am so grateful I had this experience in high school because I would probably still be figuring out my career path. I learned about every aspect of dentistry, but it was just something about dental hygiene that stood out to me the most.
As I learned about the importance of oral hygiene and its impact on overall wellness, I was drawn to the idea of helping others achieve and maintain healthy smiles. This experience ignited a spark within me, guiding my decision to pursue a career as a dental hygienist. I was amazed that at such a young age, I knew exactly what I wanted to pursue in the future, and I did everything I possibly could to get accepted into the Dental Hygiene Program, despite knowing how competitive it was. Through hard work and dedication, I began this journey, committed to making a positive impact on people’s lives through preventative care and education. This e-Portfolio showcases my journey, skills, and passion for promoting oral health.
