Unfortunately, I couldnt get any models for my first idea so I switched to product photography. Ive chosen this because when i look for photography jobs, I notice that product photography, especially of jewelry is high demand now. I want to shoot still life and maybe portraits as well.
OK. Note this is the same as photographing metal which we did in class two weeks ago. Basically light it from behind with lots of diffusion. Or put the jewelry in a tent (a quick, cheap way to create diffusion) and shoot it.
The assignment calls for either picking an article or a brand. If you are going to do jewelry, then how are you going to position your images. The project should show your conceptual thinking and creativity not just your ability to control reflection.
