Our society and media both are provocative factors that affect our teenage girls and boys. Society as a whole sometimes projects an idea that it is ok to have sex but do not get pregnant. Media also depicts toxic relationship into something beautiful. Perhaps it is natural that our generation of teenagers are adapting to a dangerous environment. Boys and girls now days are very much concerned of their physical appearances. Both are often sexually promiscuous at the age. I believe that parents have to step into their games by asking questions that could bring out their sons and daughters insights on the particular topic. It is a very sensitive topic however parents need to cross line simply show their honest opinions in an understanding way.

2. Parents should forget how they grew up and what was expected of them back in time because our teenagers deal with different social issues than they did. Parents should know basic information about AIDS in order to have a conversation with teenager. Sometimes they know more than you think so use motivational interviewing skill to interact with kids could be effective.

4. Again, I believe use of motivational interviewing can be used to deliver successful interventions and retain effectiveness. Workers can be trained to use this skill to screen young people because often STDs are related to substance abuse as well. Trained workers in agencies and community can be successful in aiding our adolescents.
