The purpose of the research project was to analyze the significance of proper scheduling for the Living Breakwater’s post-disaster-rebuilding project. Information regarding schedule activities and conceptual Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) was extrapolated from publicly available. Computer software such as Primavera 6 and Microsoft Excel was used to generate the schedule. It was found that proper scheduling is critical to ensure constructability, avoid errors and omissions in construction administration, and in simplifying the communication of project deliverables. The next step for the research would be to analyze and identify how does a proper schedule manifest a successful budget.
Greeting, I’m Joanna Quizhpe, I’m pursuing my bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology. In my project, we learned The Fundamental Theorem of Calculus, we have presented three different problems, where one problem shows how geometry can achieve this result; as well on how figures can give you the intuition of this result; and how to use numerical computation to show the result. From these three approximations of three different approaches, we can intuitive see why this is true.
My research project was about “characterizing a calpain of choice from Tetrahymena thermophila using bioinformatics tools”. Tetrahymena thermophila is a unicellular ciliated Protozoan. Calpains are calcium-dependent, non-lysosomal cysteine proteases that are prevalent among eukaryotes and bacteria. T. thermophila has about 27 calpains, however, very little is known about calpains in T. thermophila. To begin identifying the roles of calpains in T. thermophila, a calpain from T.thermophila, TTHERM_01108610, was selected and compared to human calpains using different multiple alignment tools. Different tools like MUSCLE, MAFFT, T-COFFEE were also used for consistency of results. MAFFT and MEGA were used for evolutionary relatedness using different tree drawing methods. Preliminary results obtained from these tools suggest TTHERM_01108610 may be more closely related to human calpain 7. More analysis is required to confirm this relationship.
The New York Metropolitan area uses an extensive freight system that continues to support the largest consumer market in the United States. With a demanding population of over 20 million residents coupled with the growth in E-commerce, there has been a growing dependence on heavy-duty trucks for regional and local deliveries, which has put pressure on neighborhoods and the existing freight system. To address these challenges, the city needs to transform how freight enters New York City by investing in existing infrastructure and exploring more efficient and environmentally friendly freight distribution systems. The Brooklyn-New Jersey Tunnel, a proposed freight connection between distribution centers across the Hudson River, has been regarded as a potential solution to freeing local streets from heavy-duty trucks, which creates the opportunity for vibrant, pedestrian friendly neighborhoods.
Hello, my name is Le Van La, and my ESP research mentor is Prof. Vishwas Joshi. We carry out STEM research about Ferrate VI: An environmentally friendly oxidant for water treatment. This research focuses on three important aspects that make Ferrate (VI) a preferred environmentally friendly oxidant for water treatment; namely: i) removal of toxic heavy metals like Cadmium – Cd (II) [2]; ii) destruction and removal of antibiotics, such as tetracycline; and iii) destruction of bacteria such as tetracycline-resistant E. coli from wastewater [1]. This project is conducted online by using, summarizing, analyzing, and organizing relevant literature, articles, and scientific journal data that are available via open sources, library databases, and the world wide web. The project will present some properties of Ferrate (VI), such as a competent disinfectant and an environmentally friendly or green oxidant, that makes it one of the most popular agents for the wastewater treatment processes to benefit human wellness and the aquatic environment in the long term. Thank you for listening to my summary of the project. Have a good day!
The purpose of this project is to learn about Python and how it may be utilized in bioinformatics. By utilizing multiple PDB files and visualizing the interaction using Pymol, you can see how different libraries have an influence. Python is a programming language that is commonly used to construct websites and apps, automate tasks, and analyze data. Python is a general-purpose programming language, which means it may be used to create a large variety of applications without being customized for any problem. Python was utilized for data processing and visualization in this project.
