2) There are 6 copying machines in a store. During past week, these machines produced 110, 93, 89, 69, and 103 copies. a) Find the mean, median, and standard deviation of the number of copies produced by these machines. b) With the values you have calculated, can you comment on the skewing?
sum of x is 464 and sum of x^2 is 44040
A) Mean=110+93+89+69+103=464/5=92.8
Median=89. which is the middle number
Stdeviation= 110-92.8^2=295.84
93-92.8^2=0.04
89-92.8^2=14.44
69-92.8^2=566.44
103-92.8^2=10404
sqrt295.84+0.04+14.44+566.44+10404/5=15.7
B) No skewing because the median and mean Values are too close
Median is 93 . Data should be ordered : 69, 89, 93, 103, 110 .
