December 6, 2012

The project was proposed on professorā€™s website by Naim Syla, and it was further modified in class by the other group members Amrita, Jefchy, and Francisco. Initially we changed our mind and wanted to create a page about the Radiology Program at CityTech. But our professor, Ian Beilin, opposed the idea to create a page about only one major. so we went back to our first idea. We decided to create this page because we think it will contain any type of information including academic projects. Jefchy started doing research on the Openlab page and found a page about zines that was created by Brooklyn College. However, this page was more like a collection of zines and it was different from what we aim to achieve with our project.

 

December 11, 2012

On this date we gathered in class during our classroom hour 2:30-3:45. Our web page was further developed during this session, and Amrita created the pages and Jefchy and Francisco found moreĀ information about zines and posted some links on the front page of our project. I, Naim, documented our work and worked with other group members in writing the proposal. We also used the school’s library and Academic Search Complete.

 

December 13, 2012
Today we gathered before class and worked in Zine proposal. We also modified our web page and had difficulty in finding how to create our pages for photos and videos where students would be able to upload files.TheĀ  About Zine Tech section was modified,Ā and we added the Works cited page as well as our Documentation. WeĀ tried to find more links about zines and to learn more about their origin. The most helpful link we found was Wikipedia, because it gives information in chronological order.

December 13, 2012

During the class we made a few more changes to the webpage and we did a little more research about zines. We decided to chage the look of our front page and we removed the About us section since the Proposal section will include the same information. Today we usedĀ Google as a tool of research because it was a better choice when it came to finding images and videos that we wanted to link to our page. During this period, we added a few more works cited links and we had a hard time to find how to cite a video or a picture in MLA style.

December 18, 2012

Today we met during the class and we finalized our project. A few more videos and pictures were added under the Academic section and picture section. The work was split among the group members as to who will present what. Jefchy tweaked the design of the page and we came to a final agreement as to how the page should look. Amrita will present the Academic portion and the Blog. Jefchy will present Documentation, Francisco will present the Video and Picture section and Naim will present the Proposal.

December 20, 2012

At 10am, we all gathered at the computer lab and we worked on finalizing our proposal and web page. We checked for grammatical and spelling errors and we created our PPT presentation that we have to present today at 2pm. We practiced the portions that each one of us will present. Today we did not use any source to do research as we only worked with the information we have gathered until now to finalize our project.
