My First Social Media Project

I began working on my first project for Unity for Equality on September 30, when my supervisor assigned me the task of creating a social media post to promote the launch of a new online fundraiser with See’s Candies. My supervisor provided me with a document outlining the color schemes fonts and size formant for the poster. I started by researching their website and learning more about See’s Candies, which gave me a clear idea of what I needed to do and how to approach the project.

I used Photoshop and ibisPaint X to create the social media post, and it took me some time to decide on a background that would suit both Unity for Equality and See’s Candies. During the process, I browsed the See’s Candies website for inspiration, saving images of chocolates and candies to incorporate into the post. I envisioned a collage-style design and used Photoshop to cut out the images. After that, I arranged the images, deciding on their placement, and then selected fonts to tie everything together.

The process was a bit challenging for me, and it took about four to five days to complete the design. After finishing the project, I submitted it through Microsoft Planner and waited for feedback. The main suggestion I received was to change the fonts to improve the overall look, but overall, the feedback on my post was positive.
