Narrator: Ying Li, Professional Registered Nurse, RN-BSN Graduate

My name is Ying Li and I obtained my professional registered nurse license of New York State in early 2018. I began my nursing journey by initially enrolling in an English-as-Secondary (ESL) course. In order to have more healthcare-related experiences, I started working in a community-screening center. This job gave me a foundation on how to develop communication and collaboration skills, time-management and prioritizing tasks, all of which are helpful in my current nursing job requirements. I decided to become a nurse because I enjoy caring for people and would like to devote my professional life to a meaningful industry as healthcare professionals do.
