This course aimed to help students learn about different types of art from Europe and the United States. One learned how to see art from different cultures and appreciate its beauty, especially in European art. The course also explored the deeper meanings behind art, including religious, philosophical, and social ideas. It also looked at how art connected different cultures, including those outside of the Western world. Students learned how to analyze art by looking at its style and meaning, and then practiced writing about art clearly and logically.
