In the course, students were introduced to analytic techniques that assessed how culture, economics, politics, and religion influenced and shaped the styles of different eras. Each student was assigned specific clothing items or chose them, then traced the development of style, trends, and fashion. The course also introduced important terminology essential to the fashion industry, necessary for discussing all aspects of its history. Issues affecting the fashion industry were explored through readings, videos, and discussions.
