Introduction: Personal Nursing Beliefs & Nursing Philosophy

Personal Philosophy of Nursing:

To deliver compassionate, transcultural, cost effective, and high quality care and health recovery throughout the human life span while always promoting and striving for preventative physical and mental health in all roles of nursing.

Personal Belief of Nursing:

I believe nursing is a mix of a “labor of love”, a calling, an art, and a science. Being that “to care” is a fundamental trait that humans posses, the “desire” to care or to help others many do not possess. Although the profession of nursing can be taught and learned, the part that is innate is the artistry of caring. The nurse that understands this, embodies the qualities that are needed to be a “good” nurse. I believe the nurse with the compassion and drive to care for others is a natural educator, advocate, leader, agent of change, and a healer.
