The AIGA design museum is a unique and interesting museum where designers have their known designs of typography available for view by the public. Each piece of art is shown depicting a new visual outtake from many artists. Also, not only that, you can also incorporate your very own artwork to partake in a competition where the chosen winner would also be a part of the exhibition.

The first design I choose was “Lets Talk About Me”. This piece was created by Courtney Garvin. This is mainly a brochure for InterfaceFLOR which is the largest maker of carpet tielwhich depicts where oil really comes from by the use of a picture of an elephant as the main cover. The text is in bold plain white font coloring which stands out on the picture of the elephant. The fonts within the book are all based on oil styling which gives us the viewing that the oil really does come from elephant. This design sticks out to me because its simple yet it calls you’re attention with the all bold caps.

The second design I choose was “Small in your world created by Arent Fox. This brochure has an indented white foiled-embossing font on the main cover which is black. This brochure basically shows us what Arent Fox is doing by different colored pages, and each depicting something going on with different firms which have been incorporated within it. This stood out to me because yet again it’s a easy going cover but it stands out to me with the title. It grabs my attention as to what is really in my own world.

The final piece which I choose was “I Am” which was created for the Auckland Museum. The font type is unique and creative in a big capitalized style. This piece stood out to me because it basically shows the difference of each person in their own creative way. Each person has an identity and they express with the term I Am which is very powerful. The entire design is not just one, but multiple of people expressing who they are and that in turn, stood out to me the most that they are being creative and let everyone have a say.
