Assembly Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses
This is a place of worship where Jehovah’s Witnesses hold assemblies, meetings, and special gatherings. It once was the Albemarle Theater, which was completed in March of 1921 and presented vaudeville and Fox pictures. It closed its doors in 1984 due to a fire. The last film shown was Friday the 13thIV: The Final Chapter. The building which housed a grand banquet hall and an auditorium with balconies was later purchased by Jehovah’s Witnesses and became a Kingdom Hall. It was remodeled and redesigned and remains a special place of worship. On the day I attended, I was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
