Thais Nunez

Hello, my name is Thais Nunez. I am a formal student at City Tech. I graduated high school in 2018 and took a break from school for a year. I took a year break because I needed to work and save up the money to pay college. My academic experience as a freshman in City Tech has been exciting so far. I like all of my classes and I also like my major. But, what I like the most about college is how organized your classes are thanks to the syllabus. The syllabus makes your academic experience a little bit easier. My academic goal would have to be passing all of my classes due to the case that I pay college, so I don’t my money to go to waste. Like I said, I have to work in order to attend college. I was lucky enough to get a job related to my major. That is how I found out I wanted to stay in the industry. My major is hospitality management and I am currently the hostess at a bar/restaurant in Manhattan. I could say is an easy job, even though at times, costumer can cause you a headache. But, nothing anyone could not handle. I’ve been paying attention a lot to everyone’s job in this year I’ve been working, but the job the job that interests me the most is being a manager. So, my career goals are, become a manager, save up enough money to then own my own restaurant. Or my second career goal would be to become the manager at one of the best hotels. I would say that my personal strengths would be that I am very dedicated on everything I do and when I want something, I get it on my own. These two qualities will become my professional attributes by not giving up. If possible, in a year or two, I’ll move up to being a manager at my job and then I will keep aiming higher for my next jobs.
