My Nursing Philosophy

Nursing is a combination of personal and interpersonal behavior, skills, practice and knowledge which are both applied and understood; they are all done with a holistic, spiritual and transcultural approach. The goal is to promote adaptation that will contribute to a person’s heath, quality of life and dying with dignity. We must also assess the patients’ attitude towards suffering as this determines how effectively they will cope with illness. The concepts are:

  1. Person: An individual human being with needs (physical, emotional spiritual and social) to be valued and cared for.
  2. Health: Is what each individual define it to be based on the given situation or circumstance.
  3. Environment: Anything outside the body that greatly impacts the body both positively and negatively.
  4. Relationships: individualize relationship is centered to providing greater quality nursing care. It helps the nurse and patient to actualize personal growth and professional satisfaction.
  5. Nursing: concerned with promoting and restoring Health and preventing illness.
