Learning Self-Analysis

Throughout Associate degree nursing school I have been assured that with time and experience, I will move from being task-oriented and routine-focused to seeing everything as an interconnected, fluid process, and being able to anticipate and manage rapidly changing non-routine events as this may be true I realized that I needed more education than just my associate’s degree plus new legislation and the complexity of patient care demands additional education beyond the basics.

I feel that I’ve gained extensive knowledge and learned valuable skills throughout my lectures and clinical. Especially during my urban and community rotations.  In community nursing I got to see patients outside the hospital setting and how the cycle of re- hospitalization or rehabilitation occurs. In urban nursing I got to interact with a unique set of individuals and I was introduced to Motivational interviewing. with actual patients in a real clinical environment, I fully understand, appreciate, and Interacting apply all those concepts. My clinicals significantly increased my understanding and have hopefully prepared me for the complexities of nursing practice and provide greater insight to develop an effective clinical teaching strategy. In my research class I learnt how to look at research data and analyze it and actually understand it. With every class I learnt something new that I will take with me to my everyday use at work and in the real world. This program has truly prepared me to face the new world with extensive knowledge.
