According to the worldometer.info website, the current population of Thailand as of March 9, 2021, is 69,920.015. Thailand ranks 20th among all of the countries based on countries by population (World Meter, 2021). From 2000 to 2020 there has been a fluctuation of population increase and decreasing between the span of 20 years. Even though compared to last year’s 2020 calculation of population decreased by -0.30% which is -383,840 less than from 2020’s population result of 69,625,582. 0.9% is the equivalent of the world population (World Meter, 2021). In the last 20 years, there has been a decrease in the yearly population growth of 1.15%. to 0.25%. Despite having a decline in the population their migration net has been at a stable rate for the past 5 years of 19,444. In 2020, 51.1% consist of the urban population which is 0.6 percentage difference from 2019’s urban population. Thailand is a very known country based on their 4 top cities out of 70. Bangkok listed the top number main city with the population of 5,104,476, Samut Prakan being the second with population of 388,920, Mueang Nonthaburi being the third city with population of 291,555 and Udon Than being the fourth main city with the population of 247,231. By 2050, it is projected that the population will be decreased by -0.052% with the population forecast predicting that by 2045 the migrants net will decrease to about 18,677 (World Meter n.d., 2021). 

 

Thailand demographics is a mix of a range of ethnic groups within the country. Estimates claim that the total population are 75% were Thai, 14% were Thai Chinese and 3% were ethnically Malay (World Population Review, 2021). Khmers and Mon are the remainders of Thailand population. The official language of Thailand is Thai. The median age for male in Thailand is 36.6 and for females is 38.7. Thailand consists of Northeastern, Central, and Northern and Southern regions. According to numbeo.com website, the monthly cost of living in Thailand as a single person is about 18,002.86฿ (approximately $585.27 USD). The average monthly expenditure per household was highest in Bangkok in 2009 in about 31.75 Thai Baht (Statista, 2021). This mostly consists of the change of consumption in expenditures.
