Teaching Beliefs

As a teacher we all have different beliefs as to how we teach students on a daily basis, for me teaching students in the shop class is a little different compared to a normal math/ english class. In the shop class there’s a lot of things that could potentially go wrong because of all the machinery and sharp blades through out the classroom. The way I teach my students covers a positive reinforcement method of teaching, the students have a sense of pride when they are told that the work they produced is compared to what a high level cabinetry shop produces. I believe that as a teacher we want students to gain as much knowledge as possible, and the best way I’ve found to enforce that is to make “work” not feel like work by making the classroom a fun environment.
