Welcome to my online e-portfolio, my name is Thomas DiBlasio and I am in the process of getting my teaching degree at City Tech to become a cabinetmaking teacher at East Meadow High School in New York. On this page you will find my education prior to beginning my teaching degree at city tech, my interests and goals, along with a few lesson plans I’ve created on stationary equipment that we use in the cabinetmaking classroom. As teachers we all have different belief’s on teaching and assessment strategies, so I will describe mine to you as well. Along with all this I will also be describing my teaching experiences I’ve had while student teaching. I hope you enjoy reading!
This is just one of the many stationary equipment we use in the shop class. Its the first machine we as cabinetmakers go to, to create a perfect 90 degree angle on the edge and face of the board to make perfect glue ups for panel’s. I will upload a video on how to use a jointer, to inform anyone curious as to how it work.
