Project 2

Not too long after I began at DCAS Media Services in my Spring 2024 semester, I was introduced to an almost year long project that is still being worked on till even now. While I can’t go into too much detail about its contents as of yet because of the constraints in my contract, I can share a few general notes and my experiences with this project so far. From a very early point in my internship with Media Services I was assigned a very important role as a junior creative director under my supervisor’s guidance in a graphic-based video seminar that would be showcased to individuals who are newly employed within agencies associated with DCAS throughout the city. With constant revisions and support from my supervisor, I created multi-module seminars whose purpose is to be an easily consumable presentation with relevant information to every new employee about their prospective placement. This project’s previous version had a lot of information in an unreasonable and inaccessible format that needed immediate renovation.

In this project I began by making various templates according to certain brand guidelines as inspiration for colors, layouts, brand voice and identity. ONce my supervisors approved the best template I could actually start building a basic layout for each module. Each module required colleding a variety of resources from different sites and programs like adobe stock. An estimate module took between 2-3 weeks of consistent work to complete. Granted, that doesn’t include revision periods, other assignments that Medias Services were still responsible for, and different events or projects we had to attend in order to collect assets for the social media platforms and the DCAS website.

I am beyond honored to be granted the opportunity to apply my own vision and play such a large creative role in such an important project that will be showcased to so many different people. I believe this project has helped me grow as an individual because of the confidence it has granted me allowing what my vision being validated by a variety of supervisors and committees from different agencies is like. It has also put me in a unique experience by putting me in a position with so much responsibility which ultimately has given me more faith in my ability and confidence in leadership roles.
