My name is Tashira Vélez and I am currently a Senior attending the New York City College of Technology. I am pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services.
I decided to become a human services professional because of my understanding of others. My experiences and skills will help me communicate with many populations; not only populations that speak English, but also populations that speak Spanish. I would like to work with children and will provide my services to help them successfully live their lives. After working with children, I hope to expand the populations I work with; I will possibly work with elders or people with mental disabilities. I will attain an enjoyable career that will enhance my knowledge and skills and help me provide services to the community.
