About Me

Tashecia Johnson’s Philosophy

A Philosophy is the “study of the fundamental nature of knowledge, reality and existence, especially; when considered as an academic discipline.” Nurses assess, diagnose, plan, implement and evaluate. These skills are essential to a professional nurse along with the ability to think critically.
Accuracy in caring for clients is an ethical value to me because, being precise with patient identification, administering medication and being able to think critically are all part of ensuring that human dignity is preserve.
Professional competency is being able to perform the responsibilities of a registered nurse; proficiently. Healthcare is constantly changing and evidence-based practice are being found from research. So, according to my institution’s policy and procedures I would like to stay abreast of nursing research so that I can apply best practice to my profession, if permitted by my organization.
As a Registered Professional Nurse; I believe all patients and or clients are entitled to my respect and my professionalism at all times; regardless of race, origin or status in society.
I was introduced to the Watson Philosophy and Human Caring theory as a first semester student nurse at New York City College of Technology in the Fall of 2013. Today; I still hold it close to me while practicing. Watson theory encourages nurses to provide an environment for the client that is supportive and protective while caring for the client holistically
