Eruption Cyst

Eruption cyst is usually bluish swelling, that occurs on the soft tissue over an erupting tooth. Usually found on children.  Nineteen years old African Americal female presented for dental cleaning. During Intra Oral Examination, eruption cyst was noted on the left side adjacent to distal surface of mandibular second molar, assymptomatic, patient was not aware if its presence. Patient was exposed to Bite-Wing and Panoramic radiographs.  Radiographically horizontal impaction  of the #17 was revealed. Referral was given to the oral surgeon for evaluaiton.
