Course Description
A laboratory course in which students will learn how to work on oil burners, gas burners, steam and hydronic boilers, draft and combustion efficiency testing, boiler and burner safety and operating controls, reading controls wiring diagrams, and wiring electrical control components. Individual reports are required for each laboratory exercise.
Course Objectives
Upon completion of this course, students will know: operation and maintenance of oil burners, gas burners, and steam and hydronic boilers; draft and combustion efficiency testing; boiler and burner safety and operating controls; reading control wiring diagrams; and wiring control components.

Attendance Policy
A student may be absent without penalty for 10% of the number of scheduled class meetings during the semester as follows:
Class Meets Allowable Absence
1 time/week 2 classes
Absence and lateness in excess of the college’s 10% guideline will result in a reduced grade and may be cause for a grade of “F”.
