The Luxe Mini is a fashion boutique owned by 3 women in the heart of Brooklyn, NY. During its transformation from a storefront to a “We Work space” to now building a show room, I had the most amazing opportunity to assist with rebranding its identity to the fashion world. Interning for Luxe Mini has brought out nothing but the best in me. I’ve gotten the opportunity to shoot Luxe’s first season photo shoot, style their personal clients, and also build connections to travel throughout the season for special events. Ive learned how to collaborate on a contract basis with clients, from personal styling to shooting small campaigns for other small businesses.
Styling as a fashion intern provided hands-on, immersive exposure in the fashion industry. I was giving the opportunity to get knowledge about how to put together ensembles, choose out accessories, and produce looks that complement a client’s individual style. As an intern, I helped stylists choose outfits for fashion presentations, photo shoots, and individual styling sessions. Working directly with models, I assisted them with clothing changes and fittings while making sure every look is flawlessly curated. Understanding the little things like how textures, colors, and proportions work together is just as important to styling as following trends and interpreting a vision, whether it’s for a runway presentation, event, or photo session. This position calls for imagination and attention to detail, and I did just that.
In addition, I am honored to have been offered the chance to intern with the possibility of being hired or taking on clients as I develop excellent relationships that will be ready to work after graduation.
