 + provides a space for faculty/student projects to initiate innovative, interdisciplinary systems, devices, and protocols.

 + involves faculty and students from Entertainment Technology, Architectural Technology and Computer Engineering Technology.

 + began in 2001 at The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art with funding from an NSF grant for the pioneering work in robotic theatre of Founding Director Adrianne Wortzel.

 + moved to CityTech in 2005 with funding from a Graduate Research Technology Initiative grant entitled “Research and Development of Innovative Multi-Use Devices for Telerobotics and Theater.”

+ expanded to include projects in visual/auditory simulation, sustainability, computation, data visualization, human computer interaction and virtual worlds.

+ shares advanced visualization and computation facilities and expertise with the college as a whole.

+ hosts custom virtual worlds on our OpenSimulator cluster.

+ creates open source software that is in use internationally.

+ welcomes projects of all disciplines college-wide.
