After graduating with my Associate of the Applied Sciences from Borough of Manhattan Community College in Spring of 2019. I was accepted and completed a Graduate Nurse Externship at New York City Health +Hospitals Woodhull Medical Center.
This experience was invaluable to my nursing education and growth as I had the opportunity to work as a Graduate Nurse Extern under the supervision of a Licensed Registered Nurse. I had personal one-on-one teaching on their surgical unit and HIV/Aids Clinic where I was able to hone my skills such as IV insertion, phlebotomy, various clinical skills. The experience also allowed me to witness firsthand 3-12 hour shifts weekly for 6 weeks.
