What is the Perkins Peer Advisement Program?

Perkins Peer Advisement (PPA) is committed to increasing enrollment and retention of female and nontraditional students in engineering technology programs. Our activities include
professional development, mentoring, faculty development, and community outreach.

Participating departments include Architectural Technology (ARCH), Computer Engineering
Technology (CET), Computer Systems Technology (CST), Construction Management and Civil
Engineering Technology(CMCE), Electrical and Telecommunications Engineering Technology (ETET), and Mechanical Engineering Technology (MET).

How can PPA help you?

Our peer advisors are ready to help you with their knowledge of campus resources,
giving academic/personal guidance, and major-specific tutoring. If you are having
trouble understanding class material, need help navigating CUNYfirst, or are interested
in learning more about City Tech activities and events, our OpenLab site is here to help.
Although the program targets female undergraduate students, our programs and
activities are open to all students.

We currently have advisors throughout the following departments: Architectural Technology, Computer Engineering Technology, Construction Management, and Civil Engineering Technology, Electrical and Telecommunications Engineering Technology, and Mechanical Engineering Technology.
