Caring for Our Animals’ Health

At Spread the Love, we rescue abandoned and abused animals. Our main goal is to find loving homes for all of our animals, with a family that will give these animals the care that they deserve.

During their stay, all dogs and cats are spayed and neutered.  As an animal shelter, we are faced with the problem of animal overpopulation. These procedures also prevent future health risks including cancer. Spaying and neutering also prevents unwanted sexual behavior from domesticated animals.

We believe in caring for our animals’ health and we incur the cost of these procedures, which are done before they are able to be adopted!

Our Mission

We are here to help the animals, those who cannot fend for themselves. We are an outlet for compassionate support from the public. With the numbers of stray and abused animals rising, we advocate for those who cannot be heard.

Catering to our neighborhood as well as yours, Spread the Love welcomes anyone who has a huge heart and will treat our animals with the care they deserve. We also welcome animals from those who cannot give these companions the attention and affection that they are worthy of.

Our New York City based nonprofit organization rescues animals and relocates these loving friends into safe homes. We appreciate any support to our mission as well as donations which can be made via our website at spreadthelove.org. We hope that through our work, we can spread a little love into the world.
