Emphasizing mathematical concepts, the course guides students in understanding the buying and planning process. It explores how retailers can boost profitability by strategically maximizing return on investment in sales and inventory planning while minimizing losses from markdowns and stockouts. Through computer-simulated case studies, students gain practical experience in retail merchandising principles and financial operations.
