Syllabus Overview
This class offered a thorough examination of the evolution of fashion, commencing in the late 1800s and spanning to the contemporary era. Exploring the influence of historical couturiers and fashion, analyzing the ways in which economics, politics, religion, and culture molded the styles of clothing during different periods. Our exploration of the fashion industry’s dynamics involved a multifaceted approach, incorporating readings, videos, and discussions. Additionally, students engaged with guest speakers and took trips to museums that provided valuable opportunities for insights and connections.
