Player Characteristics: Our game is rated T for Teen and is catered more towards those that like RPG games with an immersive story. Our game will also include an achivement system for the hardcore gamers as well.

Game Mechanics: Our game is a 2D side-scroller meaning the foreground will move either forward or backward depending on the player’s directional input. Throughout the game the character will acquire new skills to help defend aganist stronger and larger waves of corrupted robots. Game controls can be mapped to different keys on the keyboard in the system menu; however, these are the default controls:

Left arrow key: Move Left

Right arrow key: Move Right

Up arrow key: Jump

Down arrow key: Crouch

Z: Fire (Standard weapon)

X: Secondary skill

C: Toggle secondary skills (Unlocked by game progression)

Challenge: The objective of the game is to eliminate the mastermind behind the corruption of the robots and to put an end to the robot’s destruction. Many challenges posed are in knowing who to trust because robots can mimic human emotion identically despite not actually feeling anything. This worsens the problem of humans becoming contaminated by what started as a computer virus because any one can be (or become) your enemy.

Description of the Media Platform: Codename: Metroid will be released as a downloadable title for personal computers running on Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X. The software distributor for our video game will be Steam. Players are able to purchase the game and play it with a keyboard being the primary control scheme (in a later update the controls will allow for an Xbox 360 controller to be used). The video game will start in single player mode, but if the video game becomes successful then an online multiplayer mode will be added in the future. The video game release on Steam has yet to be determined.
