Flushing Hospital Medical Center (Dental Department)
During my senior year in the dental hygiene program, I was one of the three lucky students who was offered an internship position at Flushing Hospital Medical Center in Queens, NY. It was a very rewarding experience to be able to work with amazing dentists and dental staff. I learned a lot of things throughout the course of this internship. From managing unmanageable pedo patients to comforting a patient with Alzheimer’s disease during a dental extraction. I was also given the privilege to practice my clinical skills that I have learned in school (Scaling and Root Planning, prophy treatment, taking xrays, identifying pathology, etc.) with real clinic patients. I gained so much confidence with what I am doing during this internship. I want to thank Dr. Brown for giving me this opportunity and believing in me.
