The Sarong Kebaya is an indigenous dress that has a significant presence in Singapore’s history thus it’s no surprise the people of Singapore are proud to display the garment in international settings, such as the Singapore Airlines flight attendants uniform.
Product Overview:
Our indigenous product, the Sarong Kebaya is a traditional dress. It is wrapped around the body , often worn as a skirt or a dress. Sarongs are usually used for Singapore ceremonial or cultural events (The Asean Organization, 2023). Our product will be produced in our region using cotton. Cotton is a popular fabric that is comfortable and breathable for warm climates similar to Singapore. Our product will be exported to its top trading partner China, the United States and Malaysia ( World Integrated Trade Solutions, 2023). Our products will also be distributed through the Marina Moda e-commerce website. Singapore has one of the best e-commerce markets in the Asian region (International Trade Administration, 2022). It is a type of dress worn by Peranakan women or Nyonya of Singapore, Peranakan is a community of people who were born of Chinese immigrant men and local women, this community is the main target market for this product (Wang, 2023).
