An additional project I was tasked with outside of the main campaign was a set of illustrations to be used by the organizationās communications program. The illustration set was supposed to allude to hope in the face of uncertainty. I pulled from idioms and other culturally accepted symbols of this theme, like a sunrise, stars in the night sky, and lemons. Illustration is not my strong suit so this assignment pulled me out of my comfort zone and forced me to practice new skills. I also had to construct the composition in a way where there was room for text and other necessary items to be overlaid on-top. Overall the illustrations were well-received and I learned more about creating a successful process when it comes to illustration, from ideating and sketching, to planning compositions and executing.
