Supply Chain Management (SCM) Definition

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

In today’s competitive environment, a company’s performance does not depend just upon its own capabilities …. companies must also rely on and develop effective relationships with the suppliers in their supply chain. Supply Chain Management (SCM) is an approach to managing the entire supply chain – the flow of goods, services, and information from your suppliers’ suppliers to your customers’ customers – based on common goals, shared resources, and mutually beneficial relationships. Specific topics include outsourcing, information technology, and measuring supply chain performance. This course will be taught using textbook readings, case study analysis, Internet research, and online discussions.
