My philosophy on nursing is that it must be innovated to the point where it is more respected for its involvement in healthcare that it currently is. Nursing is a wonderful field where we get to be the ones whom the patients trust the most and who get to have that personal touch in the interdisciplinary team. However, because the field of nursing is viewed as the heart of the healthcare system, it is often viewed as less inferior in comparison to the field of physicians. This must be over come, we must emerge as leaders. This can only be done by us coming together and strategically changing our approach to team work in the interdisciplinary team and changing how we advertise ourselves. Let it be known that we also has the wits and knowledge as the MD’s in the field, as well as play important roles in terms of bringing in money to the hospitals and the other financial aspects of the medical field.
