Philosophy about Nursing

 Nursing is a profession that is patient centered, implements policies to bring about change and to protect the individual and creates method to evaluate the plan of care. This profession breathes in an environment that is based on care, listens to the voice of the client and promotes safety. This is done by practicing the ethical principal of autonomy, beneficence, non-maleficence, justice, veracity and confidentially. Also by following the scope of practice. Both ethical and legal aspects, allow nurses to practice in a competent manner, to collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, to be culturally sensitive and to make the patient/client a priority. This profession looks at the individual on a whole and assess the factors that affect them socially, economically and politically in other to build a trusting relationship. Through research, training, advance education programs and seminars, nurses are better able to find solutions to correct any factors affecting the patient/client.
