Entry #4: Midterm Submission
This is my final midterm submission, I’ve decided to create a greeting card to send out to my mailing list.
My mailing list contains illustrators, storyboard artists, art directors that I’m interested in. My main focus is just to get my name out there and let them know that I exist. I hope to make them interested in my work so that for future projects they may include me or we may do a collaboration.
Entry #3: Promotion Idea
My first plan was to make a 5x5zine show casing my work and progress. These were some images that I wanted to present, but I was eager to redraw old works.
The first and eighth page (front and back cover) would have one of my most recent works in different colors that I couldn’t decide upon. The second page was going to be the same image (and if I had time, another art piece) with a lower opacity and displaying my contact information (maybe just my resume in a smaller scale). The next couple of pages would show the completed work and a work in progress (being the line art and sketch).
After doing some research on zine printing, I quickly realized I didn’t have the funds to print them out through a company or myself:
Company

1. Printing Center USA – 10 – 28.54 – 2.85
2. UpPrinting – 10 – 35.59 – 3.56
3. Mixam – 50 – 53.59 – 1.07

2. Stapler – 12.46
3. Silk Paper – 27.90

I was also worried about time and not being satisfied with some works I currently had (because I recently got some new brushes, so I decided just to stick with my most recent piece:
I thought I could make something like a greeting card. With the front and back cover with the completed pieces and the inside showing my sketches. I may write a little About Me section on the inside and have my contact information as well.
The prices were easier on my wallet and I have the option to purchase one at a time.
Name – Total

2. FedEx – 2.50
3. Remsen – 3.00
