Nursing Philosophy

My nursing philosophy identifies nursing as a profession of excellence.  Throughout the decades nursing has evolved from a rudimentary caring profession to one that embraces cutting edge technology in its magnanimous attempts to deliver competent, culturally sensitive care.  Institutions that embark on preparing nurses for the rigorous demands of the profession are inundated with a mass of highly trained, competent and educated professionals that impart knowledge and skills in an atmosphere that is conducive to learning.  For many years nurse were relegated to being the recipients of hard taxing labor for their colleagues medical doctors that functioned in the capacity of task masters.  The profession has developed exponentially during the course of the 21st century and has garnered much respect within and without the profession.  The dawn of the 21st century has been marked by an influx of men into the profession.  This no doubt has added to the strength and political clout that has transformed nursing from a simple job to a well respected profession.  Nursing has evolved and will continue to amaze those that are both the providers and recipients of its care and attention.  This profession has not been exempt from gargantuan challenges that tax its proponents, however in spite of this nursing will continue to thrive and amaze onlookers for within and without.
