DB08 – Empowering Students Using Technology for Alternate Learning

 Kahoot is one of the gamification systems I’ve used in my classroom. Kahoot is a platform that provides students with a more engaging approach to practice class material while also allowing teachers to engage students in a nontraditional way in the classroom (Kharbach, 2023). In my Device Configuration and Management class, students have an extensive vocabulary that they must master during the school year, as well as many domains that must be covered in order to take a certification exam at the end of the course. Kahoot has been an excellent tool for students to learn vocabulary and problem solving while also recalling topics from the same material.  Kahoot has helped me assess students individually and as a group; using the data generated at the end of each round, I can determine what material needs to be reinforced as well as the students’ strengths and weaknesses on each topic.
