Version 1: My thought.
As AI is getting more recognition, more people has been using it for many creative purposes. However one of the more controversial ones are using A.I technology to make and edit music. While they seem harmless at first, the A.I software generator uses software that can change vocals, instrumentals, speed, and even lyrics. This can cause a problem to new young artists looking to work in the music industry.
Version 2: CHATGPT Rewrite this paragraph as if it was intended for a business meeting with a corporate gaming company
“As artificial intelligence continues to gain recognition, its applications in creative fields are expanding significantly. However, one area of concern is the use of AI technology for music creation and editing. While these tools may appear harmless, they have the capability to alter vocals, instrumentals, tempo, and even lyrics. This raises potential challenges for emerging artists trying to establish themselves in the music industry, as it may impact the originality and marketability of their work. Itβs crucial for us to consider these implications as we explore AI’s role in our projects.”
Version 3: CHATGPT rewrite this paragraph as if it was intended to be given in a high school class
“As artificial intelligence becomes more popular, people are using it in many creative ways. One area that has sparked some debate is using AI to create and edit music. At first glance, it might seem harmless, but these AI tools can change things like vocals, instruments, speed, and even lyrics. This can be a problem for new artists trying to break into the music industry, as it might affect their unique style and chances of success. Itβs important to think about how this impacts musicians today.”
Reflection
When I first decided to start this PSA, my goal was to explain how musicians today may have struggles due to A.I, and I wanted to draw attention to how this may negatively effect the music industry as a whole. I wanted to draw attention to the many A.I covers of songs that may have decided to implement many aspects taken from actual artists work. Why would people use A.I to edit or make music. Well in a recent music video by KSI named “Thick of It”, most people decided that the song was actually terrible. One comment even said “Maybe if it had a different beat, different lyrics, different artist, and different melody, it would actually be a good song.” This comment actually got more likes than the video at the time, before the comment was put at the bottom of the comment section (possibly the content creator’s doing in order to not make the comment get any more likes)
The first A.I rewrite was one that I enjoyed reading a lot. It uses a lot of interesting terminology and is straight to the point. It also is very detailed and seems like a report that would really be similar to an actual report about A.I generated assets. The second A.I rewrite is also great as well. I did notice that it was very similar to my original message as well, but it changes words like recognition to popular. If I was given another week, I would add more sources and be more precise with my writing.
