Welcome.

Hola!
As an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences at CUNY City Tech, I teach the BIO 3302 General Micorbiology lecture and laboratory component (6 total contact hours weekly). I also mentor students in my research lab for their in-campus internship course BIO 4910: Independent Research Study in Biomedical Informatics: Information Literacy and BIO 4920: Independent Research Study in Biomedical Informatics: Guided Research.

I am an independent academic scientist, my research program focuses on understanding the mechanisms that normally control B-cell activation and autoantibodies in response to infection and how these processes are disrupted in complex human infections such as malaria and other tropical infections. I work mostly with human and veterinary samples from Colombia and Costa Rica and other collaborators around the world. Any updates on my research can be found in https://sites.google.com/view/rivera-correalab/home-page

This is your Faculty Portfolio home page. It is a good place to introduce yourself and explain what visitors will find on this site.

The Faculty Portfolio site is set up to loosely follow the Professional Activity Report and Self Evaluation (PAR-SE) format, but you may use it in any way that suits you. Here are a few ideas:

  • Use the Blog section to document your teaching, scholarly, and professional growth to help you formulate your year-end Self Evaluation.
  • Organize the Teaching Portfolio section as an online teaching portfolio and listing of the courses taught.
  • Populate the Institutional Service section each semester with your roles and responsibilities in the Department, College, and University communities.
