Time limits for tests should be established based on the following:
- MCQs (multiple choice questions): 45 seconds per question; one minute maximum if there is an image/diagram to analyze in the question.
- Short answers questions: 2 minutes for one sentence – short answer questions and 3 minutes for several sentences – short answer questions.
- Openbook and practice questions: 1-4 minutes per question according to the type of questions and whether or not students are allowed one or several attempts.
