Though I originally studied to be an engineer in my home country – Ukraine; I’ve always had an interest in natural sciences, and an even higher degree of interest in the healthcare field and all pertaining and related professions.
It was some years after I moved to United States, several clerical and administrative jobs later that I finally did the research, made my decision and got the chance to pursue the profession I felt truly interested in.
One of the many things I find interesting, even fascinating about the Dental Hygiene field is how much of it revolves around simple preventative care, making connections with your patients in order to educate them on the basic rules that will help make their mouths healthy for years to come. The Dental Hygiene profession, for me, is the opportunity to not only aid those patients who need my help but to communicate with them and share the knowledge I received in the program to hopefully make their lives a little better.
