Meet your instructor

Hi, I’m Cailean Cooney, Associate Professor in the Library Department. I’ve been at City Tech since 2013 and beginning in fall 2014, an exciting part of my job has been to coordinate OER efforts as the OER Librarian.  I lead the OER Fellowship program which has provided support and funding for faculty to select and create OER across the disciplines. Over several years, the OER Fellowship program has evolved into a year-long structured cohort where faculty come together to learn and exchange expertise while starting or expanding various OER projects.

This initiative scaled up dramatically in 2017 when CUNY received funding from New York State tax levy to scale up curation and creation of OER across the university. City Tech has continued to be awarded significant funding to support faculty work.
