Learning Self-Analysis

Upon beginning nursing school, I was under the misinformed notion that nursing was merely bedside care. The journey to gaining a baccalaureate degree has enlightened me on the many possibilities, the many aspects of nursing one can delve into. From the courses I have successfully completed, I have not only gained competency in clinical tasks, but have also gained skills that are useful within the professional and personal setting. Attaining the baccalaureate degree has improved my time management skills, it has strengthened my ability to prioritize both outside and inside the work setting, and I have learned the value of working collaboratively through numerous group assignments. Additionally, I have a greater understanding of cultural competence and I have learned and experienced firsthand the benefits of having an effective leader.
