Philosophy

Although nursing was not my first choice upon embarking on college academia, I am grateful it did not take me four years, and a degree in political science to realize my true calling. I truly value being a nursing professional because I am able to assist my clients throughout their healing process. I have not been exposed to another field similar and quite as dynamic as nursing. As a nurse working closely with clients, I am able to forge intimate, professional relationships with my clients that assists me in providing individualized, well-rounded care.

It is truly remarkable to be at the forefront of healthcare delivery and impact an individuals’ life. As such, my philosophy as a nurse is to provide compassionate, respectful, thoughtful, dignified care, that not only aligns with a nurses’ mandatory code of ethics, but also aligns with my personal beliefs. I believe it is important to provide care that is parallel, care that is identical to the treatment I would want to receive when being cared for. I pledge to continue to grow within my field so that I will gain a wealth of knowledge and skills that will assist me in being the ideal advocator, educator, and caregiver to each and every one of my clients.
